Water Parks

Algeciras Water Park - Bahia Park Algeciras

Bahia Park in Algeciras is open for the Summer months only and is an excellent way of cooling off in Manilvas hot summer season. Bahia park is located at junction 106 on the CN340 at Algeciras. A day out for a family of 4 will cost approximately 40€ and depending on what you want to do when you are in the park costs vary. Bahia park has an excellent range of slides and also a ball park for younger children. There are a variety of bars and restaurants in Bahia park to keep you going throughout the day. Attractions include kamakazi, water shoots and large swimming pools.

 

Mijas Water Park - Parque Acuatico Mijas

Mijas Water park is located in Fuengirola and is the largest water park in the Costa del Sol. This is an incredible place to spend the day and is a must for any family holiday to Manilva. Attractions include Wild Rivers, Body Ski, Slides, Kamakazi, Jacuzzis and childrens play areas. Everything you need is within the water park including bars, restaurants and lockers. Parks and Animal Centres

Benalmadena Sea Life Centre

Benalmadena Sea Life Centre is a fascinating marina park which has the first walk-through underwater park in the Costa del Sol where you can really emerse yourself in the habitat of the sea life. You can see aquatic species from the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian Ocean and the Red Sea. Exotic Species include Sharks, Stingrays, Turtles, Mooray eels, Seahorses and Jelly fish can all be seen in their reproduced natural habitat. This fascinating voyage of discovery allows you to view this fascinating marina life close up with over 30 tanks on display.

Sick and injured sea creatures are nursed back to health here and a new exhibition features marine lifeforms dangerous to humans in their undersea habitats. There are also feeding demonstrations, special presentations and other themed attractions, as well as a terrace bar with excellent views of the port.

Benalmadena Sea Life Centre is open year round from 10am and Adults entry is 9.50€ and children 7€. Children under 4 are free. To contact the Sea Life Centre call (+34) 952 560 150.

 

Selwo Adventure Park

Selwo Adventure Park is a unique adventure park in Europe combining a nature park and safari park and includes a lake, aviary and a vast wilderness where animals roam in semi-freedom. The park can be explored in 4 x 4 jeeps or on foot using an overhead walkway. There are over 2000 animals including lions, elephants, tigers and camels and 1000 birds of prey. There are loads of things to do in the park including lake trips, archery and camel rides.

Selwo is located on the CN340 in Estepona at kilometer 162. Selwo Adventure Park is within a 30 minute drive of Manilva and is well signposted. Selwo Adventure is open every day from January to October from 10am until 6pm or 8pm from June 2nd to September 30th. In November it is only open on Fridays,
Saturdays and Sundays and in December it is open everyday from the 1st to the 10th. For more information you can phone 902 19 04 82

Fuengirola Zoo

Fuengirola Zoo is located in the centre of Fuengirola and first opened its doors to the public in 1970. The zoo then was very basic but has since progressed into one of the leading Zoos in Europe and it is based on tropical rainforest climate. As you would expect to see in the rainforests of Madagascar, Equitorial Africa and South East Asia Fuengirola Zoo is packed with a superb variety of animals including Gorillas, leopards, parrots, crocodiles and much more. The Zoo is based over on 2 hectares of land but it has the illusion of being a large zoo as it has a network of look outs and raised platforms which give visitors excellent views to over the different areas of the zoo. Torremolinos Crocodile Park

Torremolinos Crocodile Park is home to over 300 crocodiles. Watch out for 'Paco' who is the largest crocodile in the Europe ! The park has excellent guided tours where you can watch live feeds, visit the crocodile nursery and even hold one of the baby crocodiles. The park also has a large area dedicated to the history of Africa, its traditions and customs. The parks also includes an exotic bird reserve and other interesting animals including Prairie Dogs, Dwarf Goats and Emu's. Amusement Parks

Tivoli World

Tivoli World is the famous Show and Amusement park in the Costa del Sol. Tivoli has fantastic rides, shows, botanical gardens and superb fun activities for all the family. The Theatre Squares of Western Square and Andalucian Aquare are wonderful attractions in Tivoli world. There are over 30 rides and attractions, Flamenco shows, Wild West Shows, Live music, Childrens shows and comedy. More recent attractions to the park include 'Tivoliandia' which is an area dedicated to rides for young children and toddlers and 'Tivoli Agua' which is a mountain water flume ride.

Tivoli World is in Benalmadena and is well sign posted from the CN340. For more information about Tivoli World call (+34) 952 577 016. Entrance to Tivoli World is just 6€ per person and a 'Supertivolino' ticket can be purchased for 10€ which gives you unlimited access to all rides.

 

Benalmadena Cable Car

The cable car system at Benalmadena was opened in 2003 and has fast become one of the main tourist attractions on the Costa del Sol.

The Telecabina takes you on an amazing 15-minute journey in a four-person cable car right up to the highest point on the Málaga coast at an altitude of almost 800m above sea level. From this superb vantage point, you not only have the most magnificent views of the Costa del Sol, but also the awesome panoramic vistas of the Sierra Nevada mountains which are white with snow in the winter months, the Guadalhorce Valley and on a clear day you can see Gibraltar and the coast of Africa.

You are also offered a single or return ticket  as many visitors choose to walk back down the mountain and take in the spectacular views. Once at the top, there are clearly marked signs leading to specific viewpoints: Cima Calamorro (the Calamorro Mountain Peak) and Sur (south) and Oeste (west). At the summit, you can take a donkey ride through the beautiful natural surroundings and you can also see an exhibition of fine Spanish dressage horses. Other stunning attractions include a demonstration on how the birds of prey live alongside humans and you can watch the speed and feeding habits of a Peregrine Falcon or the majestic flight of the Eagle. So successful is the bird of prey sanctuary on the Calamorro Mountaintop that four rare Royal Owl chicks were successfully bred there recently. There are more than sixty birds of different species, including Vultures, Royal Eagles, Peregrine Falcons and white-headed Vultures as well as the Royal Owls. All of this makes the cable car ride exciting, educational and enjoyable for the whole family.

To find the Telecabina follow the signs for Tivoli World. Opposite the entrance to Tivoli is the entry to the cable car. Normal opening hours are 10am-11.30pm but high winds or extreme weather may disrupt the timetable.
 

La Cañada Amusement Arcade

La Cañada is the largest indoor shopping centre in the Costa del Sol that has a host a fantastic shops from designer boutiques to furniture shops, sports shops jewellers and a book store. As well as over 150 shops there is a large food court with numerous bars, restaurants and cafes a hairdressers and fitness centre. The amusement centre in La Cañada is home to a multiplex cinema, amusement arcade and ten pin bowling centre. 
 

Kids Kingdom

Kidz Kingdom is a purpose built indoor activity centre for children of all ages. The activity areas are sectioned into age groups so that children are in a very safe environment and are fully entertained throughout their time there.

Activities include a multitude of indoor climbing aparatos and soft play areas. Children can play happily and safely for hours under the supervision of the Kidz Kingdom staff which the parents enjoy a well deserved rest in the bar and restaurant area. Kidz Kingdom is perfect for the whole family and especially for those energetic young children with plenty of energy to burn !
